ETS Drift Ute – Mapping it out

Building a race car from a work ute is a pretty tricky thing to do. I was worried that there wouldnt be enough room in the cabin to fit me in, i did some measurements early on and thought it would work, after roughly mapping out where the pedals, seat and cage would go i can safely say its going to work. Ive ordered the racetech tubing to start on the cage and my chassis jig is almost finished. Full steam ahead!

  4. Dear Nigel,
I just wanted to let you know that you’ve inspired my passion seven fold. I’ve always, ALWAYS dreamed about fabricating an entire car myself but T-buckets and things like that were never in my plans. What you’re doing is helping me come into realization that I really can make ANYTHING I want. Of course it won’t be easy but, hell, it’s possible. I’m 17 and I have two project cars that I have worked my ass off on and for, which I’m going to sell so I have money to start on this long term project. I just really don’t know WHERE to start… If you could point me in the right direction… should I invest in machinery first, or a frame, or a motor, I don’t know. All I know is that this is going to be tough, but I’m handy with my hand, mind and tools so I feel like I HAVE to at least try. Keep up the sick work, this is going to sound beyond cheesy but you’re something of an idol to me.

    Best regards,
    Calvin
