Japan Day 5 – Daikoku Pa

After a huge day at Fuji Speedway we set the navi on a course for a little parking area called Daikoku Futo. Set in the middle of the most impressive highway loop i have ever seen this place has to be seen to be believed.

We arrived around 8pm so it was still early but already the cars were rolling in. Cars like this is not what we are into but you have to appreciate the effort and there was a heap of that poured into this 300C

You can hear the cars for atleast 30seconds before you see them. These exotics with straight out pipes had us all guessing before they appeared, such an ampitheater for the greaser!!

A pair of green IS200s looked great together

Keeping the IS theme running was this neatly modified ISF on BBS mesh

This GTR was just incredible, i couldnt fault it at all, huge F50 Brembos hid behind the wheels.

If you have heard Ferraris before then you probably would say they are quiet until that exhaust valve opens up. Im pretty sure this had no valve and very little muffling, it screamed down the spiraling freeway and had everyones attention as it rolled through the carpark, i guess thats why you buy a yellow Ferrari!

A couple of local drifters in there JZX90 and JZX100 from Team F.L.A.G, there moto is “only street crazy racers”

Similar to the F.L.A.G JZX 100 was this JZX90, it looked so good with a full TRAUM kit and silver carbon bonnet.

If you have the latest Option magazine then this Varietta will look familiar to you. It had 350Z headlight conversion and a heap of other crazy modifications. This car was running the entire night, the Japanes love to keep their cars running, on a cold night they leave them run the entire night. I couldnt believe it.

More highly modified LHD import cars, this Porsche had a massive rollcage inside it with aftermarket race seats and a video camera bolted to the cage.

The whole time i was in Japan i was wondering what i would buy if i had the choice, a JZX90 or a JZX100? Everytime i saw either one i would change my mind.

You havnt experianced Japan untill you have seen a 500 strong gang of bosozoku bikes and their throttle jerking riders. Every time a group came around the freeway you could barely hear yourself think, these bikes run straight out pipes and the riders just rev the hell out of them everywhere they go.

Wierd modifications left us all with unanswered questions, but deep down we all wanted to be part of a Bosozuko gang, they were the outlaws of Japan.

But after a good half an hour of ear bleeding noise the bikes were escorted out of the parking area by Police.  It took 1 policeman to have a chat to the gang leader and they all left in a blaze of monos and raw fuel from their crazy throttle cranking.

There were plenty of vans on display aswell.

A drifter from the local team Midnight Rose explained to us where to head after the meet to catch some street action, we didnt see him but we saw a heap of drifting, more on that later.

A female drifter in her sivia came for a look, i think more people were looking at her though, she was very pretty.

Some even dressed for the occasion, these girls were dancing in front of their boyfriends cars for most of the night.

Thats a wrap of Daikoku PA, what an amazing experiance, the entire place was filled of likeminded friends, happy people, good music, dancing and a stack of vending machine coffees. I kept thinking why cant we do this in Australia? then i was reminded that there would be drunken people fighting, burnouts, litter everywhere and total mayhem. Japan you have excelled once again.

  1. Really enjoying your recap of your Japan trip. Seems like an awesome time. Good on ya for getting out there and doing it!

I can attest to how noisy boso’s are. They are the worst thing to hit the roads – annoying as one and unbearable as a group.

Also, both of the FLAG cars are JZX100’s. The first one is a Chaser and the second is a Mark II. So, I think what you mean is you are having a Chaser or Mark II dilemma. I chose Chaser and love it!
