Winton Action – Thanks Henry!

The forecast was showers and sub 15 degrees temps at the racetrack for the Vic Drift practice day, its the most fun I have had behind the wheel all year! Heres a photo set thanks to Henry from dorifutoo

The first session of the day after drivers briefing was a dry track, i still had the tyres that were on the car from WTA and they wernt in the best condition. After three laps they were delaminated and it was time to come in. I sometimes like to head out on 20% tyres to get back into the swing of things.

The wheels were changed and it was time for A group to head back out. This time on brand new 595SS Federals. With a heap more grip the speed was cranked to 11 and the car was feeling great.

With no line-up over at the startline Pinky and Waz were letting everyone flow around the track nonstop, while this is great fun its not so good for tyre life, with constant heat in the tires they suffer a lot more than they would with a quick cool down. I guess im very luck to have the support of Federal these days.

After a quick rest i fitted up the TE37s again, now with fresh rubber fitted by Laurence and the boys at the wheeltech shed.

It was just as well that the car had fresh rubber because in the break there were showers, the track was wet and very slippery. I once hated wet conditions but now i cant get enough of it, here Nick follows in the big JZX, i love being mid corner and being able to hear another car!

This car is just spot on for every single condition! In the wet its an absolute dream to drive, the power delivery, grip and lock is so perfect for the fine line that wet driving requires. It was my first time using Federal RS-R tires in the wet, absolutely unbelievable control, they are 215/40/17s on the front and provide amazing feel wet or dry!

I had a blast at Winton and id like to thank all the people that were involved!
