Its 6:30 am, the sun starts to rise over the cold Winton tarmac that i will be shredding up all day. I love an early morning, it gives me time to prepare everything and triple check the setup that i rely so heavily apon. All my wheels and tyres are orginised so that when Laurence and the Wheeltech team arrive we can fit all the new Federal tyres in rediness for the long day ahead. The Driftmaster rims wont be used this weekend as the 0 offset on the rear needs too much camber to fit inside the 30mm overfenders. The car gets an inspection from the VicDrift scrutineers and is given the ok to compete, then its on to driver briefing where everyone gets the low down on what the judges and safety officials want us to observe. As i look out into the pits i see nothing but great drivers in well setup cars and the fight ahead of me seems to big to take on, its just one battle at a time!
