Rebuilding the 180

Building a car is an expensive and time consuming pass time, waiting for parts is the biggest time waster of them all. So as parts for my cars 2010 rebirth come from all round the world ill give you some insight into how its going to be for 2010, hope you dont mind the lack of pictures and long winded essay….
While the Silvia i deemed to nice to drift is sitting in the shed the 180 begins the transformation to be too nice to drift, ironic isnt it.

Body wise ill be sticking with URAS Aero, +25mm front fenders, stage 21 bonnet, this will be the last URAS kit ill have, when its in 1 million peices ill be swapping over to something a little more classy. Rear fenders are on their way from Japan, i went with the 50mm Origin Type 2 GTR style guard. These are going to demand perfect fitment to look right so there will be a LOT of rear end geometry work once they are on. The 18×10.5 TE37s will be sitting with -1deg camber and the lower arm will be lengthened to get the wheel sitting where it needs to be.

The cage will be cut out, and remade to make it a little safer and better looking, HPI 4 point 3″ harnesses in blue will be added, the seats will remain the same, with a lower drivers rail, Zeta 3 for driver and Artis 3 for pasenger both in red. The door trims will have red bride inserts, the glovebox will be trimmed in red bride material also, the floor mats will be DMAX red checker, the dash will be changed a little to look more “ito”

The engine bay is stripped back and im just finishing the tubs at the moment, it will be smooth and clean, the motor will stay the same with the addition of a full TD06L2 kit in the future, the catch can, radiator support, intercooler and all piping is being redone. The motors made 255 rwkw all year, its been brilliant so im not touching it at all.

So all this to be done by mid January. Then thrash the car all year and hopefully do this again and make the car even better for 2011. Ill add two pics of where the car went in 09

180SX for life!
