New Shed – Fitting it out

Its almost been a week since i received the keys to our new home, the shed has been the focus of my attention and the deciding factor in actually buying the house. I have big plans for it and i am not wasting any time to get those plans happening.

After the first inspection of the house i had a clear vision of what i wanted in the shed, i wanted a full 12m long wheel and tyre rack, a machine room that will keep the rest of the shed clean, a weld bench, a hoist to stack 2 cars for storage, decent lighting and hopefully 3 phase power.

After removing all of the old shelving i ordered all my steel pre cut from Metaland, at 1$ per cut its makes life a lot easier. I chose Galvinised 1.6x50x50 tube, the colour matches the shed and will stay rust free for my lifetime. As you can see the previous owner of the property did a brilliant job of doing all the electrical work, theres powerpoints everywhere and also 3 phase power. Doing a 12m long tyre rack requires plenty of tie downs to get it in position. There will be further supports running up to the beams on the roof in 5 places.

I also started to build my machine room, its only small but will house a mill drill, lathe, linisher, pedastool grinder and pedastool drill. In a couple of weeks everything should be getting to the stage where its pretty organised and i can get back to the builds.
