ETS Drift Ute – The build rolls on

Progression: the act of progressing; forward or onward movement.

Things are rolling along well with the ute build,  while i wait for more tube to arrive i focus on those little time consuming jobs.

Its been a bit of work to get the full S15 interior happening, the dash required some more work to clear the cage but its looking good. The handbrake will be the original S15 ratchet style after i weld a bracket to the frame.

  1. It’s looking sick nigel. What ride height is it going to run at?

Are you going to add extra weight in the back of it to even it up a bit? Might end up a bit tail happy.

    • I doubt it’ll matter if it’s tail happy, it’s a drift car. But wouldn’t it mean less work because it won’t need as much power to pull off drifts? It’ll only matter it it gets too carried away.

    • What he said, how are you going to get steering angle with the front end so tucked up???
I am still in awe though….

      • Hinged sections in the guards 😉

  7. Please tell me you are going to radius the guards all round to drive it at this height!

    • Hinged sections in the guards will allow it to tuck 1/3 of the rim and still get 60+ degree lock!

  11. looks good!
but a little question: dont you think the wheelbase will be too short? Will be little tricky to drift, or am I wrong? Like the Kei cars…you need fast response, reflexes et cetera

    Reply
    • The wheelbase on this is 2700, an S15 is 2525, a JZX100 is 2730. I believe 2700 is perfect, little longer and a whole lot lighter will be perfect!
