Matsuri Part 12 – Atsushi Kuroi

After everything that had happened on our Japan trip this was the last car i expected to see, Atsushi Kuroi a legend in drifting circles died on the 2nd of February 2010. His best friend now owns the Onevia and brought it along for a small tribute drive.

Kuroi was a fierce D1 competitor and to see a car of this level infront of me was overwhelming.

Following it up to driftland was amazing, the hills of Ebisu are so picturesque.

After a quick session the car came in and Kuroi’s friend would call it a day. Amazing to see it in action. The car seemed very nimble even with a huge turbine the resonse seemed useable.

Time to get ito the good parts!

Not as modified as you would think.

The RB26 is the heart of the smoke machine, take a look at some early d1 footage and you will find Kuroi dominating!

The text CNC milled into the top tank of the radiator was a neat touch by Koyorad.

The mouth of the 180SX front.

Im not too sure if that rag was meant to be there.

Underneath the rear

The man himself on the dash.

Always smiling.

Ill leave you with Kurois saying “its not that you can’t, its just that you dont”
